Impaired Phenotype of Circulating Endothelial-Derived Microparticles: Novel Marker of Cardiovascular Risk

Abstract: Circulating microparticles (MPs) delivered from the native cell membrane are suitable forms of cell-to-cell communication and transfer of biological active effectors. Circulating endothelial-derived MPs as a marker of endothelial dysfunction may discuss as integrated effectors interrelated target cells, endothelium, and conventional cardiovascualr risk factors. Endothelial-derived MPs play a pivotal role in vascular damage, integrity and tissue reparation. However, the role of MPs as biomarker of cardiovascula… Show more

“…The majority investigations have now addressed to the endothelial cell-derived MPs, which are marker of endothelial dysfunction and cardiovascular death [47,48], while MPs originated from other cells (i.e. red blood cells) have exhibited a relation to severity of atherosclerosis and coronary obstruction [49].…”

“…Indeed, SUA levels independently and inversely associated with number of circulating endothelial progenitor cells in HF individuals [21]. Moreover, uric acid contributed in shaping of altered ability of endothelial precursors to activate by several stimuli, release cell secretome, regulate endothelial reparation and turn into mature endothelial cells [22,23]. Consequently, uric acid may consider as an endogenous regulator of vascular repair system that undoubtedly opens new sign on the role of uric acid metabolism as integrative asset explaining an impact of various comorbidities on a risk of HF manifestation.…”
