Abstract:The confinement-dependent properties of solvents, particularly water, within nanoporous spaces impart unique physical and chemical behavior compared to those of the bulk. This has previously been demonstrated for a U(VI)-based metal organic nanotube that displays ice-like arrays of water molecules within the 1-D pore space and complete selectivity to H 2 O over all other solvents and isotopologues. Based upon our previous work on D 2 O and HTO adsorption processes, we suggested that the water uptake was contro… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
