“…This relieves some stress on the air transportation (e.g., congestion) resulting in reduced flight delays. To the best of our knowledge, this study is among a very few to estimate the product quality impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in the airline industry ( Hotle and Mumbower, 2021 , Kim, 2021 , Monmousseau et al, 2020 ). Our results suggest that despite the economic fallout from the pandemic, a silver lining prevails—flights are departing and arriving closer to their scheduled time in greater numbers despite the COVID-19 shocks.…”
