Abstract:Spinning tether systems are considered a good platform for payload transportation and active removal of space debris. Such maneuvers require rendezvous with targeted objects. Due to the inevitable maneuvering error, rendezvous usually happens not at a designated ideal position, but within the acceptable capture range; that is, the rendezvous is usually nonideal. Nonideal rendezvous have impacts on both orbital and spinning motions of spinning tether systems. This paper studies the dynamics and control of nonid… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
