Impact of the Pai-Khoi-Altai Regional Strike-Slip Zone on Localization of Hydrocarbon Fields in the Pre-Jurassic Basement of the Central Part of West Siberian Oil and Gas Province

Aleksey Egorov,
Vladimir Antonchik,
Natalia Senchina
et al.

Abstract: The paper presents the results of geological interpretation of the set of geophysical data with substantiation of geological-geophysical and structural geological criteria of oil and gas potential of the sedimentary cover deep levels and the upper part of the consolidated basement in the central West Siberian oil and gas basin. Gravity, magnetic and seismic data are used. The character of manifestation of the regional Pai-Khoi–Altai strike-slip zone covering an area up to 200 km wide is shown. The st… Show more

“…Strike-slip disturbances are actively studied in various regions due to the resolution of numerous practical tasks. For instance, strike-slips are of interest in the exploration and prospecting of hydrocarbon deposits, as they give rise to pull-apart basins, typically rhomboid depressions ranging in size from small basins to hundreds of kilometers [1,2]. The structure of ore bodies of noble metals deposits is often controlled by strike-slips, as the resulting faults and fractures create void space for ore deposition in a well-permeable fluid zone [3,4].…”
