“…Comparable results were reported in previous research involving purple sweet potato polysaccharides, where PSWP-I with a lower molecular weight (103 kDa) showed a superior regulation effect on key biomarkers in metabolic pathways than PSAP-I with a higher molecular weight (180 kDa). 41…”

“…Steroid hormone biosynthesis could be disrupted in DSS-induced colitis mice and could be regulated by purple sweet potato polysaccharide. 41 In another study, polysaccharides from Dendrobium huoshanense had the ability to alleviate UC by regulating metabolic pathways, such as steroid hormone biosynthesis. 42 Furthermore, dihydrocortisol, 3a,7b,12a-trihydroxy-5a-cholanoic acid, dehydroepiandrosterone, cortisol, aldosterone, and cortisone, related to steroid hormone biosynthesis, were increased 0.83-, 1.32-, 1.13-, 0.55-, 1.10-, and 0.81-fold, respect-ively, compared to those in the Model group.…”

“…[ 31 ] Purple sweet potato polysaccharides (PSPP)s’ intake significantly reduced the content of free unsaturated fatty acids (e.g., oleic acid) in colitis mice and improved the biosynthetic metabolic pathway of cutin, suberine, and wax biosynthesis. [ 32 ]…”

“…[31] Purple sweet potato polysaccharides (PSPP)s' intake significantly reduced the content of free unsaturated fatty acids (e.g., oleic acid) in colitis mice and improved the biosynthetic metabolic pathway of cutin, suberine, and wax biosynthesis. [32] Amino acids are used by the intestinal microbiota for their protein synthesis and catabolic pathways. This study showed that the ameliorative effect of HLP on DSS-induced rats was mainly reflected in the regulation of amino acid metabolism.…”
