Colombia tiene un gran potencial tanto de generación hidroeléctrica, así como de generación solar fotovoltaica. Por tanto, las soluciones de microrredes (solar+hidro) constituye una oportunidad para electrificar zonas no interconectadas. El control y la operación son dos de los mayores retos en el funcionamiento adecuado de este tipo de microrredes debido a la mezcla de dinámicas rápidas y de baja inercia asociada a los recursos solares, con dinámicas mecánicas lentas asociadas a los sistemas hidroeléctricos. El presente trabajo presenta los avances y el estado del arte de las microrredes (solar+hidro) y su posible aplicación en zonas no interconectadas de Colombia, específicamente para un municipio piloto del departamento del Chocó. Se presenta tanto la tecnología de micro-central hidroeléctrica como de generación hidrocinética como tecnologías clave para los ríos caudalosos ubicados en estas zonas no-interconectadas.
