Impact of nursing care for elderly people with type 2 diabetes mellitus: na integrative review

Abstract

Introduction: The objective of the present study is to present the importance of nursing care for elderly people with type 2 DM. Method: A qualitative approach study was adopted, from a descriptive perspective, through an integrative review of the literature, in the database BVS and Scielo materials published between 2019 and 2023, available on electronic media. 16 articles were selected based on the established inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results and Discussion: Nursing care for elderly people with type 2 DM is essential to face the challenges associated with this complex condition. Conclusion: Nursing care for elderly people diagnosed with type 2 DM is extremely important, in addition to highlighting the challenges and impacts of care in preventing complications arising from the disease.
