IMPACT OF Ni DOPANT ON OPTICAL AND MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF ZnO NANOPARTICLES FOR BIOMEDICAL APPLICATIONS

Abstract: In this work, Zn1-xNixO NPs with different concentration (x= 0.0, 0.03, 0.06 and 0.09) were synthesized by using co-precipitation method. The present study is related to investigate crystal structure, surface morphology, optical and magnetic behavior of pure and Ni dopant ZnO NPs. The hexagonal wurtzite structure and crystallite size (19.45 to 21.25 nm) was investigated by using XRD analysis.SEM and FTIR used to identify the surface morphology, stretching and vibrational modes of different functional groups (Z… Show more

“… and values are detailed in Table 2 . The optical bandgaps are close to those experimentally observed for TiO 2 that displays bandgap around 3.2 and 2.9 eV for anatase and rutile phases, respectively ( Ivanova et al, 2016 ; Munir et al, 2019 ). The anatase phase has an indirect bandgap, while the rutile presents direct electronic transitions ( Ramos Jr et al, 2017 ).…”

“…The two differently shaped TiO 2 NPs show strong absorption close to 280 nm. By the extrapolation of the linear part of the absorbance spectra, the optical band gap energy of pure TiO 2 NDs and NRs has been estimated to be 3.65 eV, which slightly differs from those reported in the literature for bulk anatase, ranging from 3.2 51 to 3.4 eV 52 up to 3.78 eV 53.…”

“…These shifts imply the presence of internal stresses within the material. Furthermore, these observed shifts in the Raman peaks can be attributed to a reduction in crystallite sizes within our samples [46].…”
