Impact of high‐permeability preferential flow zones on pumping‐induced airflow in unconfined aquifer

Abstract: When the unsaturated zone of the unconfined aquifer is covered by a lowpermeability upper layer, significant airflow will be generated in the unsaturated zone during water pumping.
