Since early 2020, the pandemic of COVID-19 has been causing significant business disruptions around the globe. The universal working method shifted from office work to a home-stay working approach. Companies face enormous pressure in this situation because their business growth and development are hampered. Meanwhile, employees become tense and uneasy as they worry about losing their jobs, which affects the performance and engagement of employees. According to the model of job demand-resource and management control system as theoretical foundations, the expected result of this research is to identify business model four-box as well as each box's contents that moderate the impact of employee engagement on business performance. The literature review reveals a dearth of research examining the impact of employee engagement on business performance using the four-box business model as a moderator. This study employs questionnaire online survey method with the goal of collecting enough valid data from targeted Chinese SMEs. The data will be analysed through SEM using AMOS software. The findings attempt to address the research gap and suggest management staff to make full use of the existing business model to benefit the company's practices.

The Effects of Passenger Risk Perception During the COVID-19 Pandemic on Airline Industry: Evidence From the United States Stock Market

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a dramatic reshaping of passenger risk perception for airline industry. The sharp increase in risk aversion by air passenger has caused a disastrous impact on the tourism service industry, particularly airline industry. Although the existing literature has provided a lot of studies on the impact of the pandemic on travel industry, there are very few studies discussing the impact of change in passenger risk perception on the stock market performance of airline industry. This study considers two types of airline companies, full-service and low-cost. In order to overcome the traditional problem of the Chow test, Quandt–Andrews test is used to identify structural change points during the pandemic in the stock prices of United States airline companies. The result shows that an industry-wide structural change in the stock market performance indeed is found to take place during the pandemic for United States airline companies. Meanwhile, no significant difference is found in the structural change date between the two types of airline companies. The selected airline companies are found to be clustered toward the end of 2020 (November and December) in their structural change dates. Although the strike of the COVID-19 pandemic on airline industry has proven to be widespread and profound, our investigation implies that air passengers have gradually adapted to the new normal of travel activities at some level and partly rebuild their sense of safety under the strict epidemic-control measures.

2021 tavaszán a koronavírussal (SARS-CoV-2) vívott küzdelem a védőoltásoknak köszönhetően pozitív fordulatot vett, melynek következtében sokan elkezdték tervezni vagy akár le is foglalták az az évi nyaralásukat. Kutatásunkban arra voltunk kíváncsiak, hogy a Covid19-pandémia jelentette kockázatészlelés hogyan befolyásolja az utazáshoz kapcsolódó teljes kockázatészlelés faktorát az utazás, nyaralás tervezése során. Az online kérdőívünket 302 fő egyetemi hallgató töltötte ki érvényesen. Az eredményeket CB-SEM elemzéssel kaptuk meg, miszerint a Covid19-pandémiához kapcsolódó észlelt kockázatok közepesen erősen és szignifikánsan növelik az utazáshoz köthető kockázatészlelést. Mindez azt jelenti, hogy a Covid19 jelentette félelmek az utazástervezés során jelentős hatással voltak az utazással összefüggő esetleges kockázatok észlelésére. Emellett kiderült, hogy nemcsak az egészségügyi veszélyekről van szó, hanem a mentális félelmekről is, ami még fontosabb faktorként jelent meg az elemzés során. Így a korábbiaknál komplexebb megközelítést kaptunk a Covid19-pandémia jelentette kockázatészlelés hatásainak mérési lehetőségeit illetően. A gyakorlati javaslatokat és a jövőbeli kutatási lehetőségeket a tanulmány végén részletezzük.
