“…During the first wave of the pandemic in 2020, a Spanish study reported a higher mortality risk from SARS-CoV-2 infection among elderly LC patients compared to the young, and a higher fatality rate of SARS-CoV-2 infection in patients with LC compared to the non-LC population ( 25 ).
