Impact-Crush Separation Characteristics of Coal and Gangue

Abstract: Utilizing the difference in hardness, coal and gangue can be separated by the impact-crush technology for utilization underground. The influence of hardness and impact velocity on the crush-ratio difference of coal and gangue was studied using an impact-crush separator and was optimized using the orthogonal experiment method. The equation of the impact-crush separation characteristics of coal and gangue was obtained by means of a regression analysis of the experiment results. The results indicated that the cru… Show more

“…Therefore, the underground coal-waste separation equipment should have the characteristics of small volume, be explosion proof, and have strong practicability, good separation effects and high reliability. At present, the underground coal-waste separation methods include the coal-waste selective crushing methods, dense medium shallow groove methods, vibro-assisted jigging methods, water separation methods and ray identification methods [36,37].…”

“…(3) Gangue Content in the Coal. According to Li and Yang, there were great differences between coal and gangue in hardness, crushing rate, and resistance to impact crushing [27,28]. The different gangue content inevitably affected the chute wear.…”

“…Traditional manual identification work is intense, and coal gangue sorting efficiency is low [9]. Mechanical vibration identification is mainly through coal and coal gangue particles and metal plate collision vibration signal recognition, but this method will reduce the quality of coal [10,11]. Xing et al [12] proposed a coal and gangue identification method based on the intensity image of lidar and DenseNet.…”
