Immunologic Pathways That Predict Mortality in HIV-Infected Ugandans Initiating Antiretroviral Therapy

Abstract: The plasma kynurenine/tryptophan (KT) ratio, a marker of adaptive immune defects, strongly predicts mortality during treated human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) disease in Ugandans as compared to US-based populations.
