Abstract: Amelogenin is an enamel matrix protein also expressed in periodontal tissues. Recent studies suggest that lysosome-associated membrane proteins (LAMPs) can bind cell surface amelogenin and act as signaling receptors for amelogenin in periodontal ligament (PDL) cells and cementoblasts in vitro.
