According to these studies, the developmental regulation of SP-A and SP-B are known to be different from each other (Toki et al, 1995) and the expression of SPs in cancer cells has been demonstrated in adenocarcinomas, which are considered to be derived from the terminal airways (Dempo et al, 1987;Mizutani et al, 1987).
