Abstract:Background: Most cases of newborn hyperbilirubinemia are physiologic; however, excessive unconjugated bilirubin is a potential neurotoxin. Phototherapy treats moderate to severe hyperbilirubinemia. If phototherapy increases immunoglobulin G (IgG) clearance, there is a chance of humoral immune disorders.
