It is commonly known as ‘drumstick tree’ or ‘horseradish tree’ and has gained attention in recent years for its nutritional and medicinal properties. This review article aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the current scientific understanding of Moringa oleifera. The review covers the plant's botany, nutritional composition, and phytochemical content. It also discusses the plant's pharmacological and medicinal properties, including its anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-diabetic, anti-viral and anti-microbial activities.
