“…Novel influenza vaccine designs seek to increase the breadth of heterologous and heterosubtypic cross-protection. One approach is to develop inactivated vaccines that selectively induce broadly neutralizing antibodies that target the conserved regions of viral proteins, such as HA stalk or the ectodomain of M2 protein (M2e) [ 13 , 14 ]. Another approach is to use live attenuated influenza vaccines (LAIV) with capacities to elicit long lasting immunity by stimulating mucosal, cellular, and systemic (IgG) responses that are cross protective against heterologous and heterosubtypic viral infections [ 11 14 ].…”

“…Therefore, the experimental M2e vaccines used in this study were given intranasally. Previous studies comparing intranasal versus subcutaneous administration routes in chickens and mice showed that subcutaneous immunization induced significantly higher Ab levels in the serum compared to intranasal [ 36 , 37 ] but we speculate that local mucosal protection against IAV is perhaps most important compared to systemic protection. Future studies need to directly compare both administration routes using the same products.…”

“…Важно отметить, что у птиц, иммунизированных интраназаль-но, на конъюктиву и микроспреем, значимого титра специфических антител детектировано не было. Кроме того, трехкратное подкожное введение птицам М2е-РР, способно индуци-ровать защиту против вирусов гриппа птиц подтипов H5N2, H7N2 и H6N2 [20]. Обнадежи-вающие данные были получены Равиным Н.В.…”
