“…With a sufficient titre 3 weeks after the last immunization, the immune response to xenoantigenic erythrocytes seems to follow a general scheme. Tilapiines also respond to antigens such as porcine, bovine and dog albumins or globulins with a peak titre 2–4 weeks after the last immunization (Baker and Smitherman, 1983; Mor and Avtalion, 1990; Prelle, 1999). The possibility to generate antisera in related tilapiine species by three‐time intramuscular injection of purified erythrocytes simplifies the procedure.…”
