Immune-related miRNA-mRNA regulation network in the livers of DHAV-3-infected ducklings

Abstract: Background: Duck hepatitis A virus type 3 (DHAV-3) is one of the most harmful pathogens in the duck industry. However, the molecular mechanism underlying DHAV-3 infection in ducklings remains poorly understood. To study the genetic regulatory network for miRNA-mRNA and the signaling pathways involved in DHAV-3 infection in ducklings, we conducted global miRNA and mRNA expression profiling of duckling liver tissues infected with lethal DHAV-3 by high-throughput sequencing. Results: We found 156 differentially e… Show more

“…39 Besides, these miR-NAs have been previously related with viral processes. For instance, miR-32-5p has a significant regulatory role in avian hepatitis A viral infection, 40 visna maedi virus, 41 and caprine arthritis encephalitis viruses, 41 while the deregulation of the expression miR-98 has been described in a mouse model of West Nile virus neuropathogenesis. 42 Apart from these two miRNAs, hsa-miR-423-3p also exhibited RAB14 as a unique target gene.…”

“…In the context of miR32, studies have documented the direct inhibition of RNA virus, primate foamy retrovirus type 1 (comparable to HIV1) at the protein level with supplementary degradative function in the coding region for influenza PB1 ( Trobaugh and Klimstra, 2017 ). Moreover, miR-32 has been reported with a significant regulatory role in avian hepatitis A viral infections ( Wu et al, 2020 ). Recently, regulations through miR98 and miR214 expression in CoVs-infected hosts has been sporadically demonstrated, subsequently, are in concordance to the observations from the current study ( Leon-Icaza et al, 2019 ).…”
