Immune Homeostasis of Human Gastric Mucosa in Helicobacter pylori Infection

Abstract: We present the results of electron microscopic, microbiological, immunohistochemical, and molecular genetic studies of gastric biopsy specimens taken for diagnostic purposes according by clinical indications during examination of patients with gastrointestinal pathology. Immune homeostasis of the gastric mucosa against the background of infection with various pathogen strains of Helicobacter pylori was studied in patients of different age groups with peptic ulcer, gastritis, metaplasia, and cancer. Some peculi… Show more

“…1-3). Our data [3][4][5][6] completely reject the assumption that the vitreous body is a homogeneous gel-like structure [9,11]. This means that physically transparent cornea, lens, and vitreous body are not transparent from histophysiological viewpoint and hence, cannot directly transmit light to the retina because of numerous "obstacles" -cell differons and fi bers.…”

“…Solution of the visual perception problem will allow a new interpretation of the pathogenesis of such ocular diseases as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and cataract [2,7,[13][14][15]. Our new morphological data on the structure of human eye [3][4][5][6][7][8]14] suggest another view on the problem of visual perception.…”

“…Helicobacter infections are more frequent as the population gets older, starting to rise at the age of 40-55 years and keeping the same levels of prevalence in the elderly (Genta et al, 2017). H. pylori infection (HpI) can lead to Barrett's oesophagus, peptic ulcers, intestinal metaplasia and stomach cancer (Reva et al, 2015). Some studies have related the presence of H. pylori in the elderly with changes in plasma levels of ghrelin and in the ghrelin-to-obestatin ratio, which are known to play an important role in appetite regulation (Gao et al, 2009a;Kim et al, 2017).…”
