Immediate management of avulsion injuries in children

Abstract: Avulsion is the complete displacement of a tooth from the socket and is considered a dental emergency. The pulp is severed from the neurovascular supply apically and the periodontal ligament is ruptured or torn. Expedient management of avulsion injuries is required, including appropriate telephone advice and emergency management. In the majority of cases, re-implantation and splinting is indicated.
