Imidazole‐catalyzed hydrolysis of acetoxyflavones physical and chemical properties of hydroxyflavones. III

Abstract: A method for the hydrolysis of acetoxyflavones with catalytic amounts of imidazole in 60% ethanol o r 60% methanol is described. The method has been applied to the acetates of monohydroxyflavones, polyhydroxyflavones, and the trihydroxyflavones naringenin and hesperetin. Partial deacetylation of quercitrin heptaacetate is described.
