“…In the current contribution, we present photophysical properties of bichromophore Re(I) carbonyl complexes with 2-(1-pyrenyl)-1 H -imidazo[4,5- f ][1,10]phenanthroline (pyr-imphen) and 1-(4-(methyl)phenyl)-2-(1-pyrenyl)-imidazo[4,5- f ][1,10]phenanthroline (pyr-tol-imphen). The great advantages of imidazo[4,5- f ][1,10]phenanthrolines are their prominent antitumor and luminescence properties, as well as the convenient synthesis along with the possibility of introduction of all types of substituents into the imidazole ring at H1- and C2-positions, directly (via the covalent bond) or through an aryl/heterocycle bridge. , Although imidazo[4,5- f ][1,10]phenanthrolines have been combined with various transition metal ions, , [ReCl(CO) 3 (R-imphen)] systems have been rarely investigated, and their photophysics is unfathomable. …”

“…Small analytes (cations, anions and neutral molecules) are essential for biological functions in living beings. [20][21][22] These analytes play an important role in maintaining the cardiovascular system, central nervous system functioning, enzyme regulation, gene expression, ion-transport mechanism, generation/bio-synthesis of gasotransmitters, DNA repairing etc. and therefore optimum concentration must be maintained in the body.…”

“…In recent years, uorescent probes have seen a gradual development and advancement in highly efficient, microscopic and real-time analysis. [43][44][45] Although a great number of uorescent probes have been developed for monitoring of Al 3+ and Zn 2+ ions in vitro and in vivo, [46][47][48][49] several Al 3+ -responsive probes suffer from the tedious and laborious multi-step synthetic routes. [50][51][52] Consequently, sensors with structural simplicity are increasingly being developed, and are still in high demand.…”
