Abstract:In 2013, two cases of malignant solitary fibrous tumours (MSFTs) were diagnosed in Malta. Both were inoperable at presentation. Both tumours expressed platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR) with no mutations and the tyrosine kinase inhibitor imatinib was prescribed. Nonetheless, treatment was not as effective as documented in previous case-reports.
