Abstract:In this paper, we consider the inverse scattering problem of determining a penetrable coated inhomogeneous dielectric with different kinds of unknown buried objects inside. The variational approach is adapted to show the well‐posedness of the direct scattering problem. For the inverse problem, we intend to reconstruct the shape and location of the coated dielectric from measured far‐field data by developing a modified factorization method. In fact, we shall first prove that the classical factorization method i… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
