Image recognition by FFT, artificial intelligence and k-nearest neighbors approach

Abstract: This paper presents procedures of processing and recognition of color images by means of artificial intelligence and computer aided training. Two stages of processing have been applied with regard to extraction of features. Processing involves conversion of RGB images in grayscale and binary; and conversion of RGB, grayscale and binary into index formats. Spectral analysis is also applied in here with Fourier’s algorithm for fast conversion concerning indicated graphic formats and segmentation of the real and … Show more

“…In recent years, a trend of strong unification and standardization of the elements in machine assemblies based on the modular principle has been noticed. The goal here is to create conditions for the rapid assembly of machines with different technological purposes, but with a universal purpose, for the needs of the new cyber requirements [2].…”

“…The rapid development of information technologies (IT) reduces risk, has a positive impact on the competitiveness of the enterprise, contributes to the faster and more targeted development of innovations in the industry [2]. The widespread implementation of such systems in the Republic of Bulgaria and the world, as well as the opening of European and global markets, created a dynamic and difficult to predict environment in which industrial companies and their competitors are forced to constantly develop and change their products and services.…”

“…However, the techno-logycentered approach of Industry 4.0 has proved improper since the lack of a human impact in the application of this concept. Therefore, the wave of change has effects that go far beyond technological transformation [2]. Such as a transformed industry requires new knowledge and skills of both engineers and workers.…”

“…These applications span various domains, including image recognition, fatigue detection, material design, and more. In detail, Balabanova et al [16] proposed a feature extraction approach that involves preprocessing images in various graphic formats using FFT and spectral analysis methods. Sedik et al [17] proposed a fatigue detection system that utilizes FFT for feature extraction and noise elimination.…”
