Image encryption using a novel quintic jerk circuit with adjustable symmetry

Abstract: Summary An electronic implementation of a novel chaotic oscillator with quintic nonlinearity is proposed herein. Dynamical behaviors of the system are investigated using well‐known numerical simulations and analyses such as phase portraits, Lyapunov exponents, bifurcation diagrams, and basins of attraction. The chaotic circuit presents an inversion‐symmetry, and we show that it can exhibit some nonlinear phenomena specific to symmetric systems, such as symmetric bifurcations, symmetric attractors, coexisting s… Show more

“…A pseudorandom number generator (PRNG), is an algorithm that generates a sequence of numbers with certain properties of chance [36]. For example, numbers are assumed to be sufficiently independent of each other, and it is potentially difficult to spot groups of numbers that follow a certain rule (group behaviors).…”

“…For example, numbers are assumed to be sufficiently independent of each other, and it is potentially difficult to spot groups of numbers that follow a certain rule (group behaviors). Pseudorandom numbers are usually generated from chaotic systems [36], chaotic maps [97], and more others. In addition, note that pseudorandom numbers generated are applied in the encryption of medical information [98].…”

“…Therefore, there are more converter stations built in China. Under the same power conversion conditions, the cost of UAV converter station is lower, and the line loss is smaller [4][5][6] , which is more suitable for China's power supply and distribution environment. However, in recent years, the internal equipment arrangement of UAV converter station in China has become more and more dense, and the composition complexity has become higher and higher.…”

“…Multi-stability refers to multiple sets of solutions in the system with a specific set of parameters [17]. The chaotic system with this unique property has potential application prospects [18][19][20][21]. Chaotic systems based on memristors can easily show the coexistence of many attractors, that is, multiple stability related to initial conditions [22].…”
