The purpose of the research was to find out the types of illocutionary act on Anger Management movie written by David Dorfmann. The data of this reserach were taken through observational method. The technic of the research used non-participatory. It was a descriptive qualitative research. The data analyzed used the theory of Searle and Austin. The result of this research there were 20 data utterances of illocutionary acts. The data was 8 showed directives, 1 showed assertives, 2showed commisive, 5showed declarative, 4and showed expressive. The data were consisted of five types: directives, assertives, commisives, declarative, and expressives. From all the data, the most used type of illocutionary acts was data for directive. The reason was because some people wanted to describe their feeling through their expression and people also liked to asked people not to do or do something by using directive illocutionary act.

Language is important in human’s life because we cannot communicate with one another without it. Therefore, it is appealing to study speech acts since we can understand how utterances are reflected in actions. It is also interesting to analyze the speech acts used in Instagram captions. This study aims to analyze speech acts of an online shopping account on Instagram that is an international brand N.Y.X. Illocutionary speech acts aims to state something to influence the listener to do activities according to what the speaker means. Based on the data obtained, the illocutionary act of the online shopping account @nyxcosmetics is in the form of directive and expressive acts. The directives illocution acts are ordering and demanding. On the other hand, the perlocutionary aims to portray the act of offering someone. This descriptive qualitative research essentially aimed at exploring the types of directive acts uttered by the main character in I Care a Lot movie. The data were taken from utterances of directive acts uttered by Marla as the main character. It was analyzed by applying the types of directive acts theory carried out by Searle (1979). The method of collecting the data was the observational method and non-participatory technique. Furthermore, pragmatic identity method and pragmatic competence- in equalizing were conducted to analyze the data. The results revealed that there were 15 utterances of directive acts uttered by the main character in I Care a Lot movie. There were 5 data showed asking, 4 data showed ordering, 3 data showed permitting, 1 data showed advising, 1 data showed requesting, and 1 data showed inviting. The type of asking became the commonly produced type because the main character frequently asked questions to other characters in I Care a Lot movie.
