Bodily boundaries transgressed: corporal alteration through ornamentation in the Pre-Pottery Neolithic at Boncuklu Tarla, Türkiye

“…It sits within the boundary of the village of Ilısu, which gave its name to the hydroelectric dam project that prompted the rescue excavation work carried out at the site. The settlement is on a natural hill 2km to the west of the Tigris River on the Nevale Mahrek stream (Figure 1) (Ökse et al 2010; Kartal et al 2014).
