“…The last group consists of a large number of studies which analysed the now well‐recognized polymorphisms in IFNL3/4 , which were steadily associated with both spontaneous clearance of HCV and SVR. While previous reviews focused on a specific viral genotype, ethnic group or SNP, this study provides a broad overview of the relevant associations. The meta‐analysis of the association of SVR with the risk allele at IFNL3/4 rs12979860 SNP included 19186 patients from 84 studies, allowing for a global analysis as well as for subsequent stratification.…”

“…These finding suggest that the up regulation of these proteins by therapy may be a factor in eradicating the HCV infection which remains reduced in non‐responder. Therefore, the investigations of the expression of TRIF, TLR3, and MAVS may be another useful tool along with the established IL28B SNPs screening for prediction of treatment response . The sample size of the patients on therapy is small and needs to be confirmed in large prospective study.…”

“…Advances in HCV detection technology create new opportunities for enhancing screening, referral, and treatment. Previous systematic reviews on HCV infection have focused on treatment response [ 8 , 9 ], clinical complications [ 10 ], and epidemiology [ 11 , 12 ]. Two previous systematic reviews on hepatitis C testing have focused on evaluating point-of-care tests compared to EIAs and other reference tests [ 13 , 14 ].…”
