Abstract: Background: The leading pathology of biliary atresia (BA) is inflammatory and fibrous obstruction of extrahepatic bile duct, butthe pathogenesis remains unclear.IL13 is a cytokine associated with allergies and inflammatory fibrosis, and periostin induces fibrogenesis by stimulation with IL13.
