“…University counseling represents an effective tool for promoting students’ mental health and for reducing a variety of psychological disorders (Barnett et al, 2021). Several studies have shown its effectiveness in reducing students’ anxiety, depression, withdrawal, somatic complaints, thought disorders, and attentional problems (Bani et al, 2020; Cerutti et al, 2022), as well as increasing their sense of belonging and self-efficacy, self-confidence, and self-strengthening (Laquale et al, 2015; Stallman et al, 2016). Despite this evidence, there is still a paucity of literature on which variables are involved in explaining the effectiveness of university counseling centers.…”
