Abstract: Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs) are chronic inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, which are clinically present as 1 of the 2 disorders, Crohn's disease (CD) or ulcerative colitis (UC) (Rogler 2004).
