Abstract: Chronic wounds, resulting from persistent inflammation, can trigger a cascade of detrimental effects including exacerbating inflammatory cytokines, compromised blood circulation at the wound site, elevation of white blood cell count, increased reactive oxygen species, and the potential risk of bacterial infection.
