Abstract: Background: Inflammation is a key pathological process in bacterial meningitis, and the transforming growth factor-betaactivated kinase 1 (TAK1)/nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) pathway is implicated in the activation of microglia and the production of inflammatory factors.
