“…In addition to the t(11;14), standard class‐switched myeloma may also be characterized by other translocations involving the IGH@ at 14q32, namely the t(4;14), t(14;16) and t(14;20) and in this context they are associated with an adverse outcome (Munshi et al , 2011). We have previously reported a patient with a t(4;14) (Ackroyd et al , 2005) and believe this current report to be the first reported case of t(14;16) in IgM MM. This case was also characterized by deletion of chromosome 13 and this, in common with standard myeloma appears to be a common abnormality in IgM MM with an overall incidence of 56% in our series (five of nine evaluable cases; Feyler et al , 2007).…”

“…5,7 Recently, IgM myeloma has been found to be associated with t(11;14), which represents a translocation between the immunoglobulin heavy chain gene locus on chromosome 14 and cyclin D1 on chromosome 11; 1 case with t(4;14), an unfavorable prognostic factor, has also been reported. 8,9 …”

“…Because of the rare incidence of IgM myeloma, most of the current evidence relies on case reports and small case series . Herein, we present the clinicopathological characteristics, outcomes and prognostic factors identified in 159 IgM myeloma cases from 20 participating centers in Europe, United States and Latin America.…”
