“If He Comes Home Nervous”: U.S. World War II Neuropsychiatric Casualties and Postwar Masculinities

Abstract: This essay analyzes representations of psychiatric casualties in advice literature and mainstream news periodicals of the late war (World War II) and early postwar period.
