Idiopathic lymphoplasmacytic aortic valvulitis: Observations in two elderly women with unexplained aortic insufficiency

Abstract: Two patients with a unique aortic valvulitis required aortic valve replacement. Both were elderly women who presented with evidence of systemic disease, including fever, arthralgia, myalgia, markedly elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate, anemia, leukocytosis, hypoalbuminemia and renal insufficiency, in addition to progressive subacute aortic insufficiency.
