Ideological Orthodoxy, State Doctrine, or Art of Governance? The “Victory of Confucianism” Revisited in Contemporary Chinese Scholarship

Abstract: It has been a popular theory in English, Japanese, and Chinese scholarship that a "victory of Confucianism" occurred during the Han dynasty.
