“…One way to overcome the problem of burnout is to build a strong community around the shared group identity. While vegans share a social category membership with other vegans (Judge et al, 2022;Markowski, 2022), they are in the societal minority and may be atomised socially and geographically -potentially not knowing, or regularly encountering, other vegans in their everyday lives (Buttny & Kinefuchi, 2020).
