Purpose. To apply artificial intelligence (AI) technology for predicting the earthing resistor of underground mines with consideration of climate change parameters. Methodology. In underground coal mines of Vietnam, the earthing system are everywhere equipped with individual rods combined with centralized grounding bed; this system significantly influences electrical safety and explosion safety. In daily operation, the resistor of the earthing system must be measured and tested regularly to ensure their value lower than the allowance limit (2). However, because of being affected by climate parameters (humidity and temperature in mines) this value varies frequently. By applying a new Neural Network with 3 hidden layers including variable parameters, the paper presents a new approach on predicting the earthing resistor. An algorithm is formed with visible and easily usable software for assisting the operator to predict the resistor. The prediction could be used for onsite management of a mine operator in the field of observing and testifying the earthing system in underground mines. Findings. Software is developed based on AI technology for assisting the operator to predict the value of the earthing resistor corresponding to climate change. Originality. Neural network with AI technology application is utilized relying on onsite measurements. Practical value. Prediction results could be used in case of difficulty in measurement. It will also help to correct or eliminate the measurement error from a mining technician.

Purpose. To determine DC leakage current in mine power network with long DC power transmission. Methodology. Nowadays, the increase in capacity and working depth leads to the use of DC power transmission, which has many benefits both economically and technically in mining. However, the appearance of DC power transmission changes the structure of the network. In the underground mine power network, there will be electrical networks with industrial frequency 50 Hz, DC power networks, and power networks after variable frequency inverters. The correlation of these network parameters complicates leakage protection in the mine power network. For DC power transmission in mining, the DC network parts have a large length, so during the working process, electricity leakage in these parts of the network often occurs. Leakage current in a DC network depends not only on DC network parameters but also on AC network parameters. The article uses analytical methods and simulation methods on Matlab/Simulink software to determine leakage currents in underground mine power networks with DC transmission when there is a change in power network parameters. Findings. The research results show that the leakage current value of the DC network is greatly affected when the insulation parameters of the electrical network change, not only in the DC power network but also in the AC network before and after the inverter. This causes the unreliable operation of the leakage protection device in this DC transmission network. Originality. Calculation model and simulation of DC leakage current in underground mine power networks with long DC transmission in mining in Vietnam Practical value. The research results are the basis for calculating and selecting leakage protection equipment for the purpose of improving safety in underground mining in Vietnam.

The paper proposes an innovative solution for managing and ensuring high energy efficiency of power supply systems at high non-linear loads. This is realized by maintaining optimal value of reliability indicators and high quality of power supply. The validation is carried out using analyzes and tests of quality of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) for increased number of powered frequency converters. It has been proven that the effective use and reduction of energy consumption can be achieved thanks to the unique technological features of the employed electrical devices. This enables a normal operation of the system with decreased power and adequate control of energy processes. The problem of predicting power losses under changing conditions in a decentralized electrical network has been solved based on the theory of electromagnetic compatibility. The influence of the mains mode parameters and the indices of instantaneous distortion of current and voltage waveforms caused by the operation of converters on the resonance phenomena in power supply systems were investigated. Recommendations were developed for the selection of proper parameters of compensators for 6-10 kV and 0.4-0.66 kV circuits based on the analysis of the optimization problem when minimizing active power losses. Results of our findings may aid parties involved in designing and maintaining power networks in various applications, such as mines, etc.
