Abstract: Data mining from computational materials database has become a popular strategy to identify unexplored catalysts. Herein, the opportunities and challenges of this strategy are analyzed by investigating a discrepancy between data mining and experiments in identifying low‐cost metal oxide (MO) electrocatalysts.
