The diversity of ferns species is very high, one type of fern that is often found in the forests of Kalimantan is the epiphytic fern. Epiphytic ferns are ferns that attach to host trees which are often found in forests with high humidity. From an ecological perspective, epiphytic ferns in Tanta Village have an important role in the environment, especially river border areas, for example as a place for small animals to live and as producers in the food chain. In terms of its benefits for humans in Tanta Village, people use it as an ornamental plant, medicine, handicraft or food. This research aims to inventory epiphytic ferns in Tanta Village, Tabalong Regency, South Kalimantan. Data collection was obtained using total techniques. The results of the research found that there were 7 types of epiphytic ferns, namely: Davallia denticulata, Asplenium nidus L., Nephrolepis biserrata, Drynaria sparsisora, Pyrrosia lanceolata, Drymoglossum piloselloides, and Microsorum punctatum. From this research it can be concluded that the seven types of epiphytic ferns can be found in the riverbank area of Tanta Village because this area is suitable for supporting the life of epiphytic ferns.

Filicinae is a fern with the most species members. The Filicinae includes approximately 170 genera and 7000 species. Filicinae grows in wet, humid, and shady environmental conditions, like waterfall areas with an altitude of 1100-1300 meters above sea level (m a s l). The study aimed to determine the taxonomic diversity of the Filicinae in the Tretes Wonosalam Waterfall Tourism area. Taxonomic diversity is very important in tourism areas because it prevents species extinction due to the destruction of the habitat, they live in. This was descriptive research with exploration and observation techniques used purposive sampling methods based on altitude. The results of the study were stated in the form of an inventory list of species and families of each station. Data gained of species diversity were analyzed using taxonomic diversity with the formula (∆) and dominance diversity with the formula (∆*). Exploration results found 37 species from 12 families composed of 10 species from 7 families at station 1; 12 species from 6 families at station 2; 14 species from 7 families at station 3; and 22 species from 12 families at station 4. The highest taxonomic diversity (∆) was station 4 with 106.8 while the lowest for station 1 was 25.63. Dominance diversity (∆*) at all stations in this study was in the medium category. The highest family found in the study was Tectariaceae with six species.

Dalam upaya meningkatkan produksi dan produktifitas kelapa sawit maka perlu dilakukan pemeliharaan terhadap kebun kelapa sawit, salah satunya yaitu dengan adanya pengelolaan gulma yang tepat. Salah satu yang perlu dilakukan yaitu pengendalian tumbuhan paku yang berpotensi epifit pada batang tanaman kelapa sawit. Tujuan dari penulisan tugas akhir ini yaitu untuk mengetahui jenis- jenis tumbuhan paku yang berpotensi sebagai tumbuhan epifit pada batang. Tanaman kelapa sawit, serta mengidentifikasi akibat yang ditimbulkan terhadap tanaman kelapa sawit. Selain itu untuk menentukan tumbuhan paku yang lebih tinggi populasinya di kebun kelapa sawit PT. Perkebunan Nusantara XIV Unit. Kebun Keera-Maroangin. Tugas akhir ini diharapkan dapat menjadi bahan informasi yang bermanfaat bagi perusahaan dalam melakukan pemeliharaan maupun dalam upaya peningkatan hasil produksi serta produktivitas pada perkebunan kelapa sawit. Metode yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling yang dilakukan pada TBM2, TBM3, dan TM dengan mengumpulkan data mengenai jenis tumbuhan paku epifit, jumlah populasi dan pengaruh yang ditimbulkan. Jenis tumbuhan paku yang ditemukan berpotensi epifit pada batang tanaman kelapa sawit yaitu ada 8 jenis spesies dari 3 jenis famili yaitu, paku harupat (dryopteridaceae), paku tupai (davalliaceae), paku kaki tupai (davalliaceae), pakis kutil (polypodiaceae), pakis staghorm (polypodiaceae), paku sisik naga (polypodiaceae), paku daun kepala tupai (polypodiaceae), paku simbar pedang (polypodiaceae). Dari 8 jenis spesies tumbuhan paku yang ditemukan, jenis yang paling banyak ditemui dari ke 3 plot yaitu paku harupat dengan total 732 populasi yang menyebar secara mengelompok diseluruh plot, sedangkan jenis yang paling sedikit ditemui yaitu pakis kutil dengan total 22 populasi yang menyebar secara teratur.
