Identification of Water Hammering for Centrifugal Pump Drive Systems

Abstract: Water hammering is a significant problem in pumping systems. It damages the pipelines of the pump drastically and needs to identify with an intelligent method. Various conventional methods such as the method of characteristics and wave attenuation methods are available to identify water hammering problems, and the predictive control method is one of the finest and time-saving methods that can identify the anomalies in the system at an early stage such that the device can be saved from total damage and reduce e… Show more

“…In addition, due to the unstable shape of the Q-H characteristic, the latter intersects the hydraulic system curve in two points which leads to the occurrence of a surge. In this case, the pump operates alternately in different operating points, the whole system is unstable, the loading on the pump changes and hydraulic shocks occur [28,29].…”

“…Before the wastewater effluent is dumped into the environment, a sewer network gathers used water for treatment at a centralised wastewater treatment plant. Centralised systems refer to the traditional form of water delivery where one centralised treatment plant treats and distributes potable water to a large The following consecutive sections will highlight the importance of life cycle cost, the application of the hidden Markov model [21,22] for LCC prediction, the application of HMM and machine learning analysis, the proposed method, the results and analysis, and the conclusion.…”

“…Pumps are important part in a wide range of mechanical operations, such as power plants, the chemical industry, air conditioning, cooling and heating systems, and more. They are commonly used for a variety of industries and used for fluid delivery [1]. Most of them are driven by induction motors, which call the whole system an electro-pump system.…”
