“…At present, there are three common detection methods at home and abroad. The first method is based on the relationship among the electrode pressure, welding current, electrode displacement, and solder joint quality to predict the solder joint quality [14]. The second method is the solder joint failure test.…”

“…The second method is the solder joint failure test. The information of the joint strength and weld nugget diameter is obtained by destroying the solder joint, and the solder joint quality is evaluated according to the standard [14]. This is the most practical method in production at present, but this method not only has low efficiency, it also causes much material waste.…”

“…Many of the authors and developers, such as C. Mandache et al, in their work they make a comparison between different non-destructive testing (NDT) to detect the lack of discontinuities of penetration in friction welding of butt agitation, for which they use a specimen of 0.2 mm thickness with a welding distance of 345mm on a material AA2024-T3, in which the length of the pin of the tool is progressively varied and its analysis focuses on how this affects the lack of penetration in the welding, they perform ultrasonic, eddy currents, liquid penetrant, in addition they use bending tests and metallographic exams to confirm the defects in the welding and correlate the results with the non-destructive testing (NDT) [6]. T. Endramawan and A. Sifa, carry out an investigation with the purpose of knowing the type of discontinuity of the result of the SMAW welding and in addition they determine the acceptance criteria based on ASME, they use a specimen with diameter of 200 mm and 12 mm of thickness of mild steel material, solder is butt joint with rooting electrode LB 52U, use the method of penetrating inks to see faults in the surface and the ultrasound test to determine sub surface faults, they perform an analysis of results accordingly to the discontinuities recorded and evaluated according to the ASME acceptance criteria [7,8].…”
