Identification of the Combinatorial Effect of miRNA Family Regulatory Network in Different Growth Patterns of GC

Abstract: According to the growth pattern, gastric cancer (GC) could be classified into expanding-type GC and infiltrative-type GC (Ming's classification). The growth pattern of GC is often related to the malignant degree, invasion, metastasis, and other pathological characteristics of tumors. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play important roles in modulating gene expression during the GC development. In this study, miR-29s were significantly correlated with the gastric carcinogenesis and Ming's classification. Biological function o… Show more

“…Numerous studies have reported that lncRNAs play a critical role in different cancers. 65 , 66 , 67 , 68 lncRNA MIR503HG inhibits cell proliferation and promotes apoptosis in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells via the miR-224-5p/HOXA9 axis. 69 lncITPF (long non-coding idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis) promotes pulmonary fibrosis by targeting hnRNP-L depending on its host gene ITGBL1.…”

“… 18 Moreover, miRNA-mediated post-transcriptional regulation requires multiple RNA-binding proteins, which are conducive to the function of miRNA in tumorigenesis. 19 , 20 , 21 In the cytoplasm, Salmena et al. 22 proposed the competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) hypothesis that lncRNA is described as mainly regulating mRNA through a ceRNA regulation mechanism.…”

“…microRNA (miRNA) is an endogenous non‐coding RNA with a length of about 22 nucleotides. 5 , 6 It can inhibit protein translation by binding with the mRNA of coding gene. At present, it has been found that there are many miRNAs with abnormal expression in OA patients, which can up‐regulate or down‐regulate the gene expression related to the growth of OA chondrocytes, thus interfering with the occurrence and development of OA.…”
