Identification of reversible changes in cerebral fat embolism syndrome using susceptibility‐weighted imaging: A case report

Abstract: Diagnosis of cerebral fat embolism (CFE) is challenging as its symptoms vary from headache to coma. Previous studies have shown susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI) is useful for diagnosis. Patients with CFE have punctuated low-signal-intensity areas on SWI, which are believed to be petechial hemorrhages. 1 Here, we describe a patient with CFE who exhibited an atypical reversible change detected on repetitive SWIs.
