Abstract: 298 The myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are a heterogeneous group of clonal hematopoietic stem cell malignancies that are characterized by ineffective hematopoiesis resulting in peripheral cytopenias and a hypercellular bone marrow. Approximately 40% of patients with MDS will develop an acute myeloid leukemia.
